TPA6110A2: output impedance in shutdown mode?

Part Number: TPA6110A2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6133A2

Hello,

I couldn't find this data in the datasheet: Could you please tell me the output impedance of the TPD6110 while in shutdown/quiescent current mode?

The reason why I'm asking is that I want to share the 3.5mm on the pcba as headphones out OR external mic input depending on user mode. If the amp has virtually zero impedance while in shutdown mode it will pull down the mic input signal towards zero, which is not what we want. The pcb is not made yet, so we're open to use another amp with similar spec (approx. 150mW and approx. 8ohm load) if you have a better recommendation for our application.

Thanks.

Eggz

  • Hi Eggz,

    I'll look for this data.
In the meantime, you could consider TPA6133A2, it has the output impedance specified in the datasheet. In addition, as this device is a DirectPath device, it features an internal charge pump to generate the negative supply rail so the output capacitor is not needed.

  • Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the recommendation. Seems like the TPA6133A2 can work well. I will close this ticket.
