TAS5753MD: Asking for the recommendation on TAS5753 Trim setting

Part Number: TAS5753MD

Hi Team,

Customer is using TAS5753 on previous project. On datasheet Start-Up Sequence on page 58, it mentioned the step 3 about trim oscillator.

However, the PPC3 TAS5753 dump .cfg file do not see the 0x1B register setting. Do customer need to manually add this trim register every time?

BR,

SHH

  • Hi Scott,

PPC3 dump out script only includes 8.2.1.2.5.1 Start-Up Sequence step 4 'Configure the Digital Audio Processor of the Amplifier via I2C'.

So 3rd step osc trim needs to be added manually.

  • Hi Matthew,

thanks for feedback. Would you please let me know what the side effect if customer did not add 3rd step?

  • Hi Scott,

As datasheet describes, the internal oscillator is used to support autodetect I2S clock rates. So if no trim osc at the initialization, there might report clock-related issues, such as wrong clock error detection, PWM frequency shift...

Is there any strange behavior reported at customer side?

  • Hi Matthew,

    there are weird status.

sometimes, it will output abnormal sound while playing 1k tone at attachment. fail rate is 5%. (1 over 20 times)

here is the video to record this weird status. is this related to this setting?

  • Hi Scott,

It's a little hard to judge whether the root is osc trim or not. Just based on the video, it seems like caused by clock related issue.

Could you help to integrate osc trim step for further check?

    Regards,

    Matthew
