PCM5100A-Q1: Charge pump's frequency

Part Number: PCM5100A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5100A, PCM5122

Dear team,

Could you please tell me what is the charge pump's frequency? I didn't fine it in the datasheet.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • The charge pumps switches at about 1.4 to 1.5MHz, depending on the input LRCK frequency.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Is there a function to charge pumps' frequency? What is the relationship between charge pumps' frequency and LRCK?

    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Sherry

  • The charge pump can only be configured manually in the devices that have an SPI/I2C interface, such as the PCM512x/4x devices.  The PCM5100A will auto-detect the LRCK/SCK ratio, and configure the clock tree to get the best case values for the charge pump.

If you take a look at table 132 of the PCM5122 datasheet, you will see examples of the clock tree values, resulting in a charge pump frequency of either 1411.2kHz or 1536kHz, depending on if the LRCK is a 44.1kHz based clock or a 48kHz based clock (respectively).

    Thanks,

    Paul
