PCM4201: Sampling frequency and data interface

Part Number: PCM4201

Dear TI

I'm Hardware Engineer at Intek Digital in South Korea.

I'm under implementing using your PCM4201 Audio ADC.

I have two question about PCM4201.

This is very urgent issue, please help me ASAP.

1.

1)According to datasheet of ADC IC, sampling rate should be decided by table1 and table2(Your datasheet)
However, there is no information concerning 11025Hz.
Could you provide how to set 11.025KHz sampling frequency? Is this Okay?

2)This IC of data format is 24bit. How do you change from 24bit to 16bit?
Is it support 16bit?

Best regards

Lonnie Kim

  • Lonnie,

    1.  Just provide either 256 x 11.025Mhz or 512 x 11.025Mhz.  note this can only be done in Normal speed mode.

    2. The audio data is always 24bit.  the processor can ignore the 8 LSBs if you want 16bit data.

    best regards,
