TPA0211: Output Power at SE Mode

Hello Specialists,

My customer is developing audio product using TPA0211.

However, the output power is not enough and so do you have any recommendation on the device?

Under the following condition, TPA0211 only has 150mW. Will TPA6211A1 be a good solution?

Requirement:

Power Supply : 3.1V

Output impedance : 8Ω

Output (SE Mode): 200mW (1kHz, 10%THD)

I think that the TPA6211A1 won't be able to reach the 200mW with a 3.1V power supply. In differential mode, it would reach around 600mW, but in single ended mode, the output power is 4 times lower. It would result in 150mW approximately.

So, I would recommend to take a look at the TPA0211. In single-ended mode, it will be able to reach more than 200mW for a THD+N = 10%.

I'm Kai working with HsinYu.

Customer has already tested with TPA0211 with following condition but they said the output power was not 200mW but around 150mW.

Power Supply : 3.1V

Output impedance : 8Ω

Output (SE Mode): 200mW (1kHz, 10%THD)

Do you have THD+N=10% output power vs supply voltage like figure 5 or share any data that shows TPA0211 can output 200mW?

Hi, Kai,

I will verify this on our evaluation modules.

We also have an alternative, the TPA4860. Please take a look at the figure 18 of datasheet for details. The single ended output can reach up to 250mW with an output load of 8ohms and VDD = 3.3V.

Hi, Kai,

The measurements that the customer got are correct. The TPA0211 doesn't have enough capabilities to reach 200mW with a 3.1V power supply. I verified this on our evaluation module.

Let me know what the customer think about the TPA4860.
