TPA3144D2: Only one channel, but no PBTL (12W)

Part Number: TPA3144D2

Hi

I would like to use the TPA3144D2 (12V supply, 20dB gain) to drive a 5W 8ohm speaker. I think the power of the PBTL mode will be to much, so i plan to use just one channel. What should i do with the unused channel in- and output? Can i just connect the inputs to GND and float the outputs?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Søren,

For the unused inputs it can be left open, or be connected to GND through 1uF capacitors.

For the unused output the output LC filter can be removed, but the bootstrap caps for them are still necessary, and the PVCC supply for the unused channel also still needs to be applied.

    Best Regards,

    Luis
