PCM1864-Q1: When changing input from differential to single ended

Part Number: PCM1864-Q1

Hi team,

My customer asks a question about PCM1864-Q1. Their platform is currently implemented with differential input as below figure, but they have to use single ended now. It seems that there are some noise when using single ended input with the diffential schematic.

Can you answer the followings?

-. In that case, is it possible to use the single ended input with below differential schematic? Otherwise, do they have to change the schematic as single ended input?

-. If the schematic should be changed to single ended input, how does the unused input pin handle? Should it be tied to GND?

-. What registers should be changed for single ended from differential?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Sam,

The customer should change the input configuration from Differential to SE if they are using an SE input. This is done in registers 6 and 7.

ideally if VIN1M and VIN2M are not used they can be terminated with a 0.47uf capacitor to gnd.
