TPA3130D2: Doesn't work when is Faultz High

Part Number: TPA3130D2

Hi Nick,

Can you test your PCB turning on/off the MUTE signal? For me, that works, but the problem is that not always works, sometimes I have to turn it on/off several times.

By the way:

I'm testing the evaluation board and when I power it on, there is nothing on the output, It is required to push the MUTE button several times (sometimes it works and sometimes not).

The second issue is: when I push the SD button (S1), the output is turned off, then it is necessary to push the MUTE button to activate it (again sometimes it works and sometimes not).

And my question:

How should the MUTE signal be handled so the output works?

Finally the third issue: When the chip is powered on (it does not matter if the output is on or off), the SDZ signal is HIGH (11V in my case). That's ok, but when I cause a DC Detect Fault situation, the chip is protected itself (this is ok too) and the output is turned off, but the SDZ signal is always HIGH.

How can I detect the FAULT situation? Reading the SDZ pin level does not work.

Best Regards

Juan Carlos
