TAS2562YFPEVM-DC: Unable to generate 7V and 6V

Part Number: TAS2562YFPEVM-DC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2562

We have a customer that can't seem to generate boost voltages lower than 8V.Setting the boost to 7V and 6V both yield 8.2V It looks like "Boost Configure 2" isn't being set properly as BST_VREG is reading 0b0000, which appears to be a reserved value, but setting manually to 0001b does not seem to resolve the issue.

Do we have any information on this?

Thank you,

Mitchell Spears

  • Hi Mitchell,

I'll take a look at your questions and come back with further information later today.

  • Hi Ivan,

Have you had a chance to look into this?

    Field Applications

  • Hi Mitchell,

I actually just tested this on an EVM. The Boost voltage is actually going lower than 8.2V to 7V and 6V, so I couldn't replicate the behavior.
There are some questions I'd like to ask:

    • What is your PPC3 and TAS2562 app version?
    • What is your VBAT supply voltage?
    • Are you using the EVM?
    • Can you describe your test procedure?

    Here is my test procedure:

    1. Open PPC3
    2. Open TAS2562 app
    3. Connect TAS2562EVM to USB and 5V supply
    4. Enter and exit System Checks panel
    5. Go to Device Control panel
    6. Go to the bottom and change Max Boost Voltage from 10V to 7V
    7. Click on Power Up button at top right
    8. Play sine tone at low volume and gradually increase the gain
    9. Voltage changes from VBAT-> 6.8V -> 7.1V as the input signal is increased.

I read register 0x34 after the above procedure and get 0x43.

    Best regards,
