DRV602: DRV602 Pop Noise with Termination at NC Pin

Hi Sirs,

The DRV603 and DRV602 are pin compatible devices while the DRV603 supports UVP function at pin 11 and can be left NC with the DRV602. Customer can have the options to assemble the DRV603 or DRV602 depend on actual requirement of system level design.

Customer found high pop noise when connecting UVP circuit to pin 11 of the DRV602, and the pop noise can be reduced by leaving pin 11 NC. Would you please advise if it is a normal behavior with the DRV602?

Hi, Wayne,

As far as I know, the DRV602 pin 11 should be left floated since it doesn't require an external circuitry to avoid pops. I think there's already a pop reduction circuit inside the DRV602 pin 11 and having an external circuit may result in risk of having pop. I strongly recommend to leave this pin floated to avoid pop issues. If the external circuit is required, I would recommend to opt for the DRV603.
