Dear experts,

My customer is selecting devices. Now they try to use TAS3251, but confuse about Smart Amp features, and the Speaker Characterization Board for PurePath™ Audio Smart Amp. 

It is said that the characterization process creates a digital model of the speaker based on thermal, electro-mechanical and acoustic parameters. Could you help to explain what kind of application will use the Smart Amp and Speaker Characterization?

    Hi Minqi,

    Please refer to Chapter 8.5.1 for the audio processing features of TAS3251. Users can use the features provided.

    For the smart-amp, please refer to below document,(chapter 1~18)


    Smart amp is more common in lower power devices. It helps to make the speaker as loud as possible without being damaged.

    In high power applications, as the amp and the speakers are strong enough, demanding for smart amp is lower.
