TAS3251EVM: usage with MSP432

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to use TAS3251 with my MSP432 EVM. From what I see there are various ways to feed digital audio signals to TAS, e.g. I2S but MSP doesn't seem to support it. Both, MSP and TAS, have I2C but to my knowledge this is only useful for configuration, not for audio transmission. Do I need any additional module between TAS and MSP? Or maybe should I utilize SPI? Or instead MSP432 should I rather go for something different? The general idea is to receive audio via WIFI to MSP (with CC3120 booster pack) and then forward it to TAS.

Any hints will help me going with the project,

Hi Michal,

I2S is an interface that specially for audio application. If your MSP controller doesn't support dedicate I2S interface, you can program the standard I/O pins to build a I2S port by yourself. Page 13-16 on datasheet showed the timing requirement. As long as you can follow these, your interface can work well.

It seems that I can, indeed, use the SPI bus for this purpose. Let me see how far I can get with this.
