TAS2770EVM: Audio is not working on TAS2770 EVM

Part Number: TAS2770EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2770

Hello Concern,

I have installed PPC3 and Connect EVM. also assign Speaker as TI Speaker.

Please find the attached Image for Jumper setting.

But not able to find the audio player in PPC3 console and unable to get audio from the TAS2770.

While configuring & power up - it shows the 'Error while powering'. - check the snap.

  • Hi, Shubham,

Our team will take a look at this thread and will answer as soon as possible.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Shubham,

Can you please click on the IRQ button on the top right corner? And please let us know what are the flags being triggered there.

Additionally, is your J6 (I2C-SEL) jumper shroted? This should be open if you're using USB control and audio source.

  • Hello Ivan,

    Please find the below details.

    Data read

    IRQ Read

Now there is no error in setup.

So please help on the sound output through the playback

  • Shubham,

What about the I2C jumper I mentioned?

Have you tried to use a different audio source than PPC3 player? You can set the EVM as default playback device and play audio from any other software.

  • Hello Ivan,

Thanks For the support, It is working & I have tested it for Different sound fie.

I have one query regarding the operation -

i.e mp3 (PCM data) send through USB and microcontroller send the data over I2S to the audio amplifier (TAS2770)

and PPC3 Console control register sends over the I2C to an audio amplifier.

so we are measuring the frequency on SBCLK, FSYNC & SDIN. So I need to measure output at PWM out SPK + & SPK -.

But i am getting fixed frequency differential voltage on output.

So what will be the output form.

for example. 100Hz to1Khz sound signal

    VBAT is 5V.

  • HI Shubham,

You can start a new thread if your original questions was solved.

Output PWM is modulating its duty cycle when audio is playing, frequency is fixed. You can consider the modulation scheme shown in this appnote.
