PCM1681: PCM1681 SCK and LRCK/BCK clock synchronization

Hello Expert,

I have question for datasheet description regarding SCK and LRCK/BCK clock synchronization.

PCM1681's datasheet said this device require to synchronize between SCK and LRCK/BCK as this link.
However, I have discussed regarding this topic on this thread and Expert said PCM1681 don't require phase synchronization between SCK and LRCK/BCK.
So I'd like to confirm about meaning of "Synchronous" which is on Datasheet just in case.
I guess this mean "Frequency" synchronization and don't mean about "Phase" Synchronization.
Is this understanding correct?
