TAS5825M: Question of TAS5825 Crosstalk Specification

Part Number: TAS5825M

Hi Sirs,

The TAS5825 datasheet specifies -80dB crosstalk at 20kHz, 6ohm load, 24V PVDD. Would you please provide test condition of output power (W) and input signal level (dBFS) for comparison? My customer sees -40dB crossalk with 15W, 8ohm load condition on the EVM. I can reproduce customer's test result as well.

TAS5825 datasheet

EVM test result:

Vout Sweep with 1kHz, one channel undriven - 60dB crosstalk at 1kHz, independent to input level.

Thank you and Bet regards,

  • Hi Wayne,

TAS5825M Crosstalk measurement condition is output 1Vrms, 1kHz. The input level could be calculated based on default 0dB analog gain setting.

Crosstalk is highly related to PCB board layout and inductor selection (better shielding type), so datasheet specs are measured using internal MTS board, not EVM board. It's the root cause that you couldn't reproduce similar level performance with EVM board.

In order to improve the result, maybe you could change inductor to better shielding one, such as Murata Metal Alloy power inductor, and optimize layout to leave more space between left and right channel, even rotate the inductor direction (90C inverse between left and right channel) for better Xtalk.
