TPA3255: RESET TPA3255

Part Number: TPA3255
Hello,
I have a problem with TPA3255 DDVR Q1, when after resetting (manual or SW) the chip goes to LOW on FAULT, and is therefore in an error state and stay here.. A fault occurs when both an input or output is connected or disconnected, when the load is in OUTPUTS pins,.... The chip has already been changed for a new one. I don't know why, I'm also researching it on the development board and I can't find a mistake. The diagram is in the appendix. Can anyone advise me please?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Vladimír

  • Hi Vladimir,

Looks like you operating in Pre-filter PBTL. Please replace R70 and R71 to be 0ohm resistors. We have seen in the past using 10kohms on the inputs in PBTL can cause ground bounce issues. Let me know if that fixes the problem.

Also what parts are L3 and L5? What kind of inductors are they?

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton

  • Hi Robert,

I replaced R70 and R71 to 0R and it works fine.

It just amazes me that there is something else installed on EVB (0ohm) and something else is in the scheme for EVB (10kOhm).

Thank you very much for your help, the problem is solved.

    Best Regards,

    Vladimír
