CC85xx firmware versions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8520

Hello!

I want to use a feature of the CC8520 that will be avvailabe starting with firmware version 1.1. Is there a roadmap when version 1.1 will come? In the forum I read very different schedules. One even says in Fall 2010, another one March 2011.

We are planning to sell very large quantities later, as it will be included in a consumer product and would like to get a beta tester if possible.

Is it possible to write own code for the included µC-core in the CC8520? We can sign an NDA if it is needed.

BTW: Is there a version history for the old firmware versions?

Best regards,

Kai

  • Hi Kai.

The release of firmware 1.1 is still tentative (obviously not Fall of 2010 :D )
For more information, please get in touch with local Texas Instruments sales team.

    Thanks Kjetil!

    Let's hope they can help.

I just wanted to point out that the planning seems to be delayed a lot according to the original plans. The 2 dates I mentioned - and also the one in 2010- were posted by TI employees in this forum. I was wondering what were the reasons and got a little bit the feeling that hardware issues in the chip might be the reason. I have to be sure that the cc8520s that are available now will really support the some of the FW1.1 features.

    Regards,

    Kai
