PCM6260-Q1: replacement for AKM devices

Part Number: PCM6260-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3168A, TLV320AIC3268, SRC4194

Hi team,

I am looking for replacement for competitor AKM devices as below, could you help to share some advice? Doesn't have to pin to pin, could be functional compatiable.

  • AK7602
  • AK7739FBVQ
  • AK7735AVQ
  • AK7738FAVQ

Please let me know if you have any ideas, thanks.

  • Hi James,

I'm not able to find information on all of the devices above but these seem to largely be part of AKMs multi-channel DSP integrated Codecs. Unfortunately we do not have single chip solutions that can replace these devices, but it may still be possible to build a system solution.

Almost all of our codecs are stereo with some being mono. The only >2channel codec we have is PCM3168A which may be a suitable replacement on that side. This device does not have an integrated DSP though so this would need to exist elsewhere in the system.

The TLV320AIC3268 is a stereo codec with integrated DSP that comes close to some of the AKM DSP devices, but it still tends to have a bit less memory. Memory requirements are heavily dependent on the algorithms being used and what kind of performance is needed.

On the SRC side we have up to 4-channel SRCs , I would suggest SRC4194. If more channels are needed then 2 of these devices could be used together.

    Best,

    Zak

  • Hi Zack,

    Thanks for the comments.

Do we have any device to compete with AK6501?

    Thanks.

  • Hi James,

I'm not familiar with that part number nor am I able to find a datasheet for it. Do you have any information you can share about this part?

    Best,

    Zak
