PCM1794A: Evaluation kit available?

Dear TI support,

does TI plan to make an evaluation board available for the DAC PCM1794A?

In any case, can you suggest a PCM1794A evaluation board available on the market that can meet the S/N / dynamic range specifications? Is it for instance possible to purchase a DEM-PCM1794?

    Hi Paolo,

    We do not offer a purchasable EVM for the PCM1794A any longer.  We have some hardware that we can use to support specific measurements upon customer's requests, but it not publically available.  This device is a bit older and has a long and proven track record in high-end equipment, so the need to verify its performance is less critical for most customers.  That being said, I recognize that there is no alternative to "getting your hands dirty" when prototyping a system.

    There are some hobbyist boards available that have excellent performance (from what the vendors selling them report), which you could consider if you are working on a prototype. 

    If you have a specific question, I would be happy to help with that as well.

    Dear Paul,

    it would be great to be able to get from you for a while a test bpoard. I would like to measure the dynamic of the DAC in the presence of our application specific master clock jitter. I would like to perform the measurement with Audio precision as soon as possible, before we get to our next prototyping phase, which is always a longer process compared to a rapid test on an available board.

    Any suggestion from you is appreciated! we can also continue offline.
