TPA3220: questions (RESET, OSCP/M, table 5 in datasheet and /FAULT, /OTW_CLIP terminals)

Hello Experts,

I have couple of question for TPA3220. Would you please answer them?
1. RESET
The datasheet mentioned below comment.
"To ensure thermal reliability, the rising edge of RESET must occur no sooner than 4 ms after the falling edge of FAULT." Why 4ms wait time is needed? Would you please explain more detail?

2. OSCP, OSCM connection
If I would like to use TPA3220 in master mode and only one device is used, how can I connect OSCP and OSCM terminals? These terminals should be floating, correct?

3. Table 5 in datasheet
What does "A,B,C,D" mean? My understanding is it means an each of half bridge as follows. Is my understanding correct?
A => OUT1_P
B => OUT1_M
C => OUT2_P
D => OUT2_M

4. /FAULT, /OTW_CLIP
Regarding a following thread, when can you update the datasheet?

1. RESET

I don't have much details on the reason for "4-ms", but I think it could related internal circuit needs this time to reset from an over temperature condition or cool down.

2. OSCP, OSCM connection

Please leave them floating.

3. Table 5 in datasheet

Yes, you are correct on below,

A => OUT1_P
B => OUT1_M
C => OUT2_P
D => OUT2_M

4. /FAULT, /OTW_CLIP

Sorry for the long delay... The documentation system is just changed recently and I don't have clear timeline now. Is you design not compatible with 5V level? You may build a level shifter with a simple external MOS and resistors.

BTW, a following comments mean that customer should have wait time more than 4ms when /RESET must occur after falling edge of /FAULT, correct? Is my understanding correct?

Hi Fujiwara-san,

Yes, it means that user should wait at least 4-ms after a fault before trying to set the device back to normal operation.
