how to add bias to TPA2008D2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2008D2, PCM1754

Hi,

I  wanna use PCM1754 to drive TPA2008D2, there are some problem when i am designing the circuit

you know,PCM1754 have two chanels analogy output and TPA2008D2 has two differential audio inputs. How to connect the signal? I mean i connect  one analogy source to the INP input and ac groud INN input through a capacitor . The INN input  also need to connect VCOM pin from PCM1754.Is it  right?

Thanks

Devin

  • Devin,

    Ni hao!!!

You want to use a low-pass filter on the output of the PCM1754 to filter the out of band noise, otherwise it may contribute to an increase in noise floor in the TPA2008D2. You may be able to use a simple RC LPF, or you may need an active one like shown in Fig 29 of the PCM1754 d/s.

At the output of your LPF, tie it to INP like you said, and then for INN, tie that to ground (or better yet, VCOM of the PCM1754) using the same value dc-blocking cap as on the INP side. If there is a mismatch between INN and INP, there will be a pop at power-up.
