PCM1690-Q1: Pin 19, 20 connection

Hello Team,

PCM1690-Q1 has Pin19(AMUTEO), Pin20(MD/SDA/DEMP). These are open-drain output with active low.

Q. Does these pin have internal pull-up resistor? or do we need to add external pull-up resistor?

If these pin has internal pull-up resistor, I want to ask one more question as below.

Q. For Pin20, If not I2C mode, this pin behaves input pin as MD, DEMP. In this case the internal pull-up register still active?

Kurimoto-san,

These pins do not have in internal pull-up resistor. An external pull-up resistor is needed for operation.

Thanks for your answer.

Do you have any recommendation about the resistance value of the pull-up resistor?

If the pull-up resistance is small, I think the pin see middle of voltage which is generated by pull-up resistor and IC internal resistance.

Kurimoto-san,

The AMUTEO pin has an open drain output that would be similar to digital pins used for I2C communication. Depending on speed of operation you would use a pull-up resistor between 1kΩ and 10kΩ.
