LM4861: Which θJa should be used?

Hi Team,

There is two spec θJa in the LM4861 datasheet as following, M08A and N08E.

Which θJa should be used as thermal resistance?

Hi, Onawa-san,

The θJa thermal spec depends of the device being used.

The θJa - M08A applies to the LM4861MX and LM4861M.
The θJa - N08E applies to the LM4861MX/NOPB and LM4861M/NOPB.

OK, I understood that. One quick question.

All version looks same package though, Why is there a difference in thermal resistance?

Hi, Onawa-san,

There are some differences on the ball finish and moisture sensitivity humidity that result in a different thermal resistance.
