TLV320AIC3254EVM-K: easy way to evaluate the MIC in (ADC) function

Hi team,

I've a TLV320AIC3254EVM-K board on hand. I connected it to computer through USB and I can hear my computer sound through either Line out or Headphone out.

Is there any easy way to evaluate the MIC in (ADC) function? I would like to record the the mic-in into a audio file then playback or directly play it through headphone out. I read the EVM user guide, but didn't find step by step guideline to do that. I saw there is a MIC on board.

Hi Jerry,

The EVM has an on-board microphone. Please follow the procedure in the attached documents to record the mic. data and route the signal to the analog outputs.

I would like to continue to evaluate the mic-in to digital and analog output. Do we have the guideline for this?

Hi Jerry,

Did you face any issue in recording the on-board microphone using the procedure describe in the shared documents? Could you please elaborate?

Hi Diljith,

I found the on-board microphone quality is not good to analog out. In fact, I can't hear my own voice, but just get the ambient noise, so I'm trying to use an high quality microphone to mic-in. If you have that guideline, you could share it to me.

Hi Jerry,

The internal and external mics are connected to the same device inputs pins - IN3L and IN3R. Please refer to the EVM User's Guide (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau264a/slau264a.pdf ) The procedure for setting up the external mic through the J4 connector is pretty much the same except for the W2 and W3 connectors.Removing W2 and W3 jumpers disconnects the internal mic from IN3L and IN3R. The rest of the procedure is the same.
