PCM2901: There is noise in USB codec when entering the system

Part Number: PCM2901

Dear Sir:

When I tested the function of PCM2901E, I found that there was a noise when I entered the system or entered the desktop with password.I tested Ubuntu 16.04/18.04/20.04 and found this noise, but it was not found in WIN10. After entering the OS, the audio function is OK.

       Test platform: Intel APL N3350 + PCM2901E

This is a USB waveform that does not play audio files after entering the system:

This is the USB waveform in case of noise or playing audio files or hot plug codec chips while the system is running:

So the source of the noise is the data on the USB waveform. But for a voice data, why does it become noise after codec conversion? Is there any way to avoid this noise?

       Looking forward to your help,thanks.

  • Hello,

Could you try attaching the images or audio files again?  They did not make it through and it's a little hard to understand the issue.  The PCM2901 is not the USB host and is a target device that enumerates as a UAC1.0.  If the host is requesting USB data from the device then it will put out microphone data.
