PUREPATHCONSOLE: Output voltage level measurement

Part Number: PUREPATHCONSOLE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2110EVM

Hello team,

I'm evaluating TAS2110EVM with PPC3.

I'd like to test it with sine wave input.

In my use case, volume control is -5dBm and amplifier level is 9dBV.

The PPC3 shows the output level is 3.985V Vpeak.

I'd like to check if the measured output agrees with the PPC3 value.

Could you please let me know how to filter and compare the PWM output with the PPC3 output level report?

Regards,

Itoh

  • Hi, Itoh-san,

Our team will take a look at this and will provide a response as soon as possible.

  • Hi Itoh-san,

you will need to filter the 384 kHz switching frequency  without attenuating the 20 Hz - 20 kHz Audio band. A LPF with a corner frequency ~50 kHz and 40 dB attenuation at frequencies >300 kHz should be OK. For our bench equipment we precondition our PWM signals with an AUX-0025/AUX-0040 filter before measurement. The frequency response of the filters we use:

I am not recommending to buy such a filter, simply use this frequency response as a reference for what is used in our lab. After filtering you can observe the waveform on an oscilloscope to verify the amplitude.
