PCM2903EVM-U: Difference Between product folders and user guides

Part Number: PCM2903EVM-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2903C, , PCM2903

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering PCM2903C and confirming PCM2903EVM-U.

Could you please advise about their question.

---

I would like to evaluate the IC of PCM2903C.

It is confusing because the description in the product folder of PCM2903EVM-U and the description in the user guide are different.

Could please advise which one is correct.

(1) In the description of the PCM2903EVM-U product folder, PCM2903C is used.

(description)

The PCM2903EVM-U is an evaluation module for the PCM2903C USB audio codec.

The EVM is supported by Windows® XP, Windows® Vista, Windows® 7, OSX and most operating systems which are compatible with USB class audio devices.

The PCM2903EVM-U connects to a USB port of a PC. The USB interface provides power, control and streaming audio data to the EVM.

  • Full-featured evaluation module for the PCM2903C audio codec.
  • USB connection to PC provides power, control, and streaming audio data for easy evaluation

(2) According to the PCM2903EVM-U User's Guide, PCM2903 (NRND) is listed.

(description)

The PCM2903EVM-U is an evaluation board for Texas Instruments' newly developed USB interface codec, PCM2903.

The PCM2903EVM-U evaluation module (EVM) includes a PCM2903.

It is a self-powered USB codec without an S/PDIF interface.

(3) If PCM2903 is used, are there any restrictions due to the difference from PCM2903C?

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi
