LM49251: Maximum Power Consumption

Dear Sir,

We are estimating the playback time for a battery operating product.

The product will use speaker in LS (stereo input, aLC on) mode 2. If the total power consumption (excluding power use for sound producing) is typically 5.9mA for 8 ohm speakers, and two speakers are drawing 2mA each to product sound, the total power consumption of the LM49251 is typically 5.9+2+2 = 9.9mA. Am I correct? Is there other power consumption I need to consider?

Hi,

Yes, typically the current consumption should be as you mentioned. Please remember that these typical current values were taken with the electrical characteristics conditions specified in the datasheet. Different conditions may result in different current values.

Thank you for confirming.

As long as the different conditions (of the same mode) do not deviate the power consumption by more than 20%, it should be fine.

Is there an evaluation kit for LM49251, or any DSP demo board used LM49251 that we can use to evaluate LM49251?

Unfortunately, a demo/evaluation board for this device has not been developed and there are no plans to do it.
