TPA6204A1: Broken wave form

Part Number: TPA6204A1

I'd like to ask you about the broken wave form.

Although the signal from DSP shows very stable, but the wave form started getting deformed after passing through TPA6204A1 as below picture.

Could you please advise what could cause this kind of problem?

I also attached the schematic .

Thank you

  • Hi Kyung,

Can you provide more details about the input signal to TPA6204A1?

    • What is the frequency content of the input signal? Is it a single frequency tone? Is it a frequency sweep?
    • I noticed there are a couple capacitors at the output, some protection I assume,  have you tried by removing these capacitors?

Two things I could think could cause attenuation are if the device is heating up, or if it has a short or low impedance at the output, it could make the device to limit the current to prevent damage. The other thing would be frequency content, the device has a specified frequency response and if audio content is at the limit or out of this bandwidth the gain would be reduced.

  • Hello Ivan

My customer is working to improve start-up time by working on Bypass cap. 1uF--->0.01uF.

    Anyhow, regarding your questions,

     single frequency tone is used.

Although they removed the two caps, the same things happens continously.

    Thank you

  • Hi Kyung,

Thanks for the information. Regarding bypass cap, so my understanding is that VDD is enabled the same time as audio starts?

Can we get captures of VDD and bypass as well as audio input/output?

    Thanks and Best regards,
