TAS3251-SW: Characteristics data of the speaker

Hi Team,

 

I got TAS3251 evaluation board, I need the characteristics of the speaker to debug the sound. But I don't have the Learning Board .

Can the Excursion Limiter be provided by the Speaker supplier? Can i use LEARNINGBOARD-SW to export an initial set of coefficients that

define the SOA( I have speaker type, speaker area, port area, BL, speaker power limit and other speaker parameters) ?

    Hi,

    LEARNINGBOARD together with its software based on PPC3 is provided by TI to characterize the speakers.

    The smart amp algorithm needs Thiele-Small model parameters. If speaker vendor can provide the parameters, then it's good to use.

    You may find more details on the "Characterization" block of the TAS3251 PPC3 GUI.

    BTW, speakers in mid/high power applications usually doesn't really need the smart amp feature. Smart amp is more meaningful for small speakers, like the ones on cell phone, tablet, etc.
