TLV320AIC3268: Microphone Processing for Intelligibility

Part Number: TLV320AIC3268

Folks,

I am trying to process a microphone input for increased intelligibility.

First, I am trying to create a filter on frequencies outside the normal band of human speech. Second, I am trying to amplify soft speakers and reduce the amplitude of loud talkers.

Here is my PurePath design:

As you can see, I have run out of resources. I have the EVM and have loaded what appeared to be much more complex FIR + DRC configurations and they all seem to build.

I am missing something here?  I am going about this problem the correct way? Do you have any suggestions?

Please advise.

Phil

  • Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Phil,

The framework recommended for use with 48/44.1 kHz (and other lower rates) is the 8x4x framework (highlighted below). The defaults for the 8x4x framework will support the processing that you are looking for. The default allowed cycles for 2x1x is 256 cycles whereas for 8x4x is 1024 cycles. You can also edit the property for higher cycle counts provided you configure the clock tree to provide a higher DSP clock.

    Best Regards.
