Hi,

Is TLV320AIC3100 capable of communicating in full duplex via I2S 1ch? We need to play speaker and read MIC at the same time.

Previously, the above question was in E2E and the answer was Yes.

Please tell me how to switch between Master and Slave?

Is it necessary to switch the direction of BCLK? If necessary, please tell me how to switch the direction of BCLK.

Hello User,

Yes, full duplex is definitely achievable with this device and our CODECs.

To switch between master and slave, you need to configure Page 0, Register 27 bits D3 and D2 as outputs.

To use the device in full duplex, changing the direction of BCLK is not necessary.

OK. It means that we can use the speaker and microphone at the same time without switching the direction of BCLK with I2S 1ch.

Please tell me in what situation the Audio Codec should be set as master or slave.

Yes this is correct.

Whether to use the device in master or slave mode ultimately depends on your system and if your host processor can provide the necessary clocks needed for proper operation.
