Hi team,

My customer is evaluating our TLV320AIC3254.

They have a quick search on TI forum and find following topic

All the codecs miniDSP supports the noise reduction block. It can be used as the following document mentions: 7245.Noise Reduction with Variable Filter Bands.pdf

However, the microphone beam forming block is only supported by the TLV320AIC3262 and the TLV320AIC3268 : 3036.Microphone Beamforming.pdf

 

They need your help to know what is the restriction of Codec  and if you could provide latest related AP note that is most appreciated.

Could you kindly let us know whether it can support below spec. Thanks.

Microphone CODEC

shall be possible to adust the sampling rate (at least 22k, 32, 44k, 48k)
shall support at least 16-bit bit-depth (preferred 32 bits)
shall support at least 150Hz to 16kHz

 

Noise Reduction Filter

shall be possible to enable/disable noise reduction filter
should be possible to adjust level of noise reduction
should be possible to adjust the filter parameter: bands, gain, and order (e.g. low and high frequency of bandpass)
the codec shall use a bit-depth of 32 bits for noise reduction in order to avoid numerical effects

 

Microphone CODEC

The codec shall contain/support adaptative beamforming capabilities allowing voice tracking, background noise reduction and accoustic echo cancelation.
The adaptative beamforming shall be configurable (at least enable/disable, e.g. phase shift).

 

Microphone

shall be possible to adjust the audio level of each DMIC
shall be possible to adjust the balance between DMICs
shall support automatic audio level adjustment (auto, on-off mode)
shall be possible to toggle between stereo and mono (signal of DMICs shall be merged using adaptative beamforming)

 

Audio codec

The codec shall be used to drive 1 x Speaker and 2 x DMICs
The codec shall have features to aid in processing/recording audio in noisy environment

 

Echo/Noise Cancellation

The device shall be capable of echo cancellation/ noise reduction to support future features. This could be as part of the audio CODEC or the cellular modem.
