Hello,

What is the procedure for updating EQ coefficients in the TAS5727. I know that the GUI tool handles this seamlessly, but from my own controller code, do I need to mute or bypass the EQ first, then update the coefficients, then un-mute or un-bypass? Or does the chip seamlessly manage the transition from old coefficients to new coefficients without artifacts? If the chip automatically inserts a mute/bypass, do you know how long the EQ is inactive before the new coefficients take effect?

Hi John,

In TAS5727, updates to EQ registers are made on the fly, i.e without muting or by-passsing.

Although, on-the-fly updates can potentially cause artificats, this is usually not a concern since EQ is only fine-tuned during development, and then set to fixed value in final application.If a mute/by-pass is required, you will need to include the steps in the controller code.

Note: The GUI also makes the updates on the fly, i.e. without mute or bypass.
