PCM1754-Q1: does it support 16BIT in I2S mode?

Part Number: PCM1754-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1754, PCM5102

Hello,

does it support 16-bit(not 24-bit) i2s?

i'm porting the pcm1754 to an embedded linux system.

and it is set to I2S 16bit mode but it didn't work.

but i connected to PCM5102 with the same wires(BCK,SCK,LRCK,DAT) and settings as PCM1754 and it works.

what makes these two chips different?

and i was able to get the following information from the Datasheet.

looking at the above data, i don't know if it supports 16bit i2s.

please teach me.

ps: looking at the datasheet, it seems that i2s mode doesn't supoort 256fs, is this also true?

thank you.

  • hello,

    Is there anybody?

  • Hi DongGyu,

What is the PCM 1754's behavior when it is not working? Is the output shape?

Can you share your schematic? Have you confirmed the shape of your I2S signal with an oscilloscope?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul Frost,

    Thank you for your reply

These are the schematic and capture of each i2s signal, out.

as i mentioned in the question, i set it to i2s mode, 16 bits, oversampling 256 fs, but i couldn't hear anything.

and it works when i connected with PCM5102 with the same settings(same AP).

so while comparing the two datasheets, i found the something difference as in the above question.

    please check it.

    Thank you so much.
