TLV320AIC3268: Pure Path Biquad - High and Low Bandpass Filters

Part Number: TLV320AIC3268

TI Experts,

In PurePath, does it require two separate Biquads to do both High and Low Bandpass filters?  Or, can you add a second line in the BiQuad Filter Design Tool for the second filter type?  If so, how does one insert a second line?

Thank you.

Phil

  • Does it require two Biquads?  In the Biquad Design Tool, why do they allow multiple lines?  How do you add additional lines?

  • Hi Phil,

You can use a dedicated bandpass filter for your low and high pass filtering, but depending on where you want to place your cutoff frequencies this may not be practical and you would be better off dedicating more controlled filters for the low pass and high pass sections.

You can add multiple biquad filters to one path by selecting the biquad block and changing the number of instances

When you do this you will see the other biquad options in the filter design tool as well as additional coefficients in the property window

You can then look at the individual filters as well as the composite response of the full filter path and the composite response is what will be applied to any signal that you route through this biquad block.

    Best,

    Zak
