TAS2557EVM: TAS2557EVM +LB2+PPC3 V3.2.0 Fails Hardware Checks and Speaker Normalisation

Part Number: TAS2557EVM

System running under Win10.

Fails Hardware Checks ('Unable to playback audio'), although a short tone is heard from the attached loudspeaker.
The rest of the Speaker Characterisation routine runs OK, including the SPL measurement.
Fails Speaker Normalisation ('Check speaker connection'), although a single chirp is heard from the attached loudspeaker.

I believe the Hardware Checks passed OK when the system was first installed last week.
I have tried re-booting the PC, no improvement.
I have tried re-installing the software (PPC3 + EVM plug-in), no improvement.

Hi Nick,

Do you know if any jumper setting could've changed from last time? What is the current jumper settings you're using?
Please make sure IOVDD jumper is set to 1.8V when using the learning board.

Ivan,

I am using the default jumper settings and changing the IOVDD to 1.8V seemed to make no difference, it is still inconsistent in its behavior, sometimes failing as originally mentioned, and sometimes passing the tests OK. Either way, I have been able to make some progress.

Could you please tell me the function of the two ROM Modes, as I have been unable to find a reference to their functionality in the documentation?

Hi Nick,

ROM mode 1 is a simple amplifier with digital input, signal processing features and IV-sense is disabled in this mode.
ROM mode 2 is same as ROM 1, but with IV-sense enabled, signal processing features are still disabled.
