DRV2700EVM: DRV2700EVM: not recognized by the Piezo Control Console

Part Number: DRV2700EVM

Hi all,

I am trying to use PiezoControlConsole.exe to drive DRV2700EVMDRV2700EVM but my laptop cannot recognize DRV2700EVM.
From the GUI, the USB button is blank like this:

My laptop system is win10. I tried to update the firmware of the EVM by clicking GUI -> Help -> Firmware Update and then press button SW1 and scan device. But it didn't work. I attached the result below.

Does anyone have any advice anout it? Much appreciated.

Best wishes,

Yugang

  • Hello,

For a firmware update, make sure you unplug the EVM and plug it back in while holding down the SW1 button. The button must be held down while the board is powering on for it to properly go into BSL mode.

  • Hi Justin,

Thank you for your timly reply. I've tried what you suggested but still it didn't work. The firmware cannot be updated and PiezoControlConsole.exe cannot recognize the  DRV2700EVM.

    All the best,

    Yugang

  • Sorry for my reply again. Just now I tried again with what you suggested. As for the fimware update when I click "Scan Device" button, the state blank now shows:

    "BSL device DisConnected
    TI Standard BSL device found.
need TI-Txt format firmware to update"

I couldn't understand what it means. Do you have any idea?

    Thank you,

    Yugang

  • Hi all, this is my latest updating. After the state blank shows

    "BSL device DisConnected
    TI Standard BSL device found.
need TI-Txt format firmware to update"

I selected Firmware File by "Open FW" and then click "Update" button. Then the firmware is updated and PiezoControlConsole.exe can recognize DRV2700EVM now.

    Thank you for your help.

    All the wishes,

    Yugang
