Hi Kevin,

I am assuming when asking what the disadvantages/advantages are you are referring to the LM49370 alone. There really isn’t any disadvantages/advantages if one uses Short frame sync/Long frame sync with the LM49370. The LM49370 will behave the same, no changes in power or performance. The LM49370 provides these two different options to allow customers the flexibility to use any chip, even if the chip can handle only one specific type of sync format.

Hi Gerardine,

Thank you for your answer.

I wasn't especially refering to the LM49370, I mentionned this chip because it perfectly fits my needs.
While I was looking for PCM chips, I noticed that there were these 2 kind of sync on every single chip I found and I wondered if there were any disavantages/advantages. Maybe there isn't any after all, just wanted to make sure.
