Problem with PCM2903B under WINDOWS 7

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2903B, PCM2903C

Dear Sirs,

we are running the PCM2903B AUDIO CODEC chip under WINDOWS XP witout any problems.

Under WINDOWS 7 we now have the problem that ADC input chanels can not be used for recording because the input level can not be controlled.

Is there any solutions for this problem or can you suggest another chip with the same function running under WINDOWS 7?

Kind regards

  • Hi, Andreas,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The PCM2903B is NRND according to our website, and the recommended replacement is PCM2903C.

The reason we did that is to fix the exact issue you've seen in Windows 7.

So, if you swap out the B version for the C version, everything will be fine. You can order free samples from our website to verify it for yourself.

  • Dear Sirs,

thank you very much for your answer.

I have already maneged to get the C type IC to update our PCB board for further checking.

    Kind regards

    Andreas
