TAS2505 Gain Setteing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2505

Hi

I ask you a question by gain setting of Speaker amp of TAS2505.

Is 32dB setable in page1/Register48 ?

32dB is setable with the application notebook, but judges that 24dB is setable with the data sheet.

 Thanking you in advance

  • Hi,

I have asked my colleague to work with you on this issue.

I think what you are saying is the GUI allows you to set the gain to 32 dB, but the data sheet lists 24 dB as the highest gain setting?

    -d2

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your suport.

    Yes.

It is the question of the gain set range of SPKP/M.

    It is written as "D6-D4: '101'-Spk Driver Volume = 32dB" in "TAS2505 Application Reference Guide(SLAU472)" of Page80".

However, it becomes setable to 6-24dB(Gain setting) in Figure1-1 Block Diagram page3.

    Which is right?

  • Hi,

Sorry for the confusion in the datasheet. The gain range of the Class-D speaker is from +6 to +32 dB in 6 dB steps.

The block diagram means from 6 dB, an additional 24 is available (6 +24 = 32dB). I agree that this is confusing.

    Best Regards,

    dave

  • I thank you for your support.

    1) '101'(32dB) possible?    Output has been done successfully in the setting of '001'-'100'(6dB~24dB).    However, the output will be lost (It is not output) from the time of SPK '101'(32dB) in operation check my.

What do you know just cause?

    2) '101'(32dB) is only 8dB-Step, but, OK are you in that understanding?

    3) Is it good in understanding 6dB, 12dB, 18dB, 24dB, 32dB that can be set at the SPK?

    Page1/Register48: D6-D4 SPK Driver Volume 000:Default (0dB) 001:6dB 010:12dB 011:18dB 100:24dB 101:32dB 110-111:Reserved

    Best regards

  • Hi,

I tested the device in the lab and have found that 32 dB is NOT available. This is the same as your test has found.

    Only 6, 12, 18, and 24 are available. Page 1, Register 48, Bits 6-4 value 101 - 111 should be "Reserved".

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will see that this is corrected in the next revision of the user's guide.

    Best Regards,
    dave
