Question about TPA1517

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA1517, TPA3111D1

Hello,

I would like to ask some questions about TPA1517 "Pop" noise as below from my customer.

1) Mechanism of "Pop" noise happend when the transition from Mute/Standby to Normal mode

The datasheet (P12 below) describes that ...

"As the control voltage moves through the undefined areas, pop or click sounds may be heard in the speaker.

Moving from mute to normal causes a very small click sound.

Whereas moving from standby to mute can cause a much larger pop sound."

Woudld you please tell me the mechanism?

2) Why do you recommend to use "diode" to reduce pop noise?

There is a reference circuit on the datasheet Page 13, Fig25.

And 2 diodes network (N914) are adopted to reduce the noise.

I do not understand why the pop noise will be small by using these diodes.

3) Another solution to reduce the noise

Could you advise me how to modify the reference circuit(Fig25) if the pop noise does not reduce?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best Regards,

Takumi
