TLV320AIC3100 MIC connection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3100

Hi,

May I know where I can find the suggested schematics regarding micropone connection for both differential and single-end microphone using TLV320AIC3100?

Thanks

Antony

  • Hi, Antony,

Please take a look of the following pictures. These are the suggested connections for the differential and single-ended microphones.

Differential microphone (you can choose between MIC1LP or MIC1RP for the design):

Single-ended microphone (you can choose between MIC1LP, MIC1RP or MIC1LM for the design; MICDET pin can be used too):

I hope this helps you. If you still have questions or comments, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi Luis,

    Thanks!  It helps a lot.

One more question, do we have layout guide regarding microphone connection for these two cases? Additionally, what else we can do in layout for this chip to prevent recording noise from MIC input?

    Antony

  • Hi, Antony,

Unfortunately, we don't have a layout guide for the microphone connection. There are several EVMs that use the single-ended and differential microphones such the TLV320AIC3254EVM. Please take a look of the user's guide. There's a layout section that can be helpful to you.

Additionally, we suggest to separate the analog side from the digital side to avoid any digital noise in the analog performance. Please separate the analog ground from the digital ground to avoid the noise issues. They must be joined only in one point (similar as the TLV320AIC3254EVM).

I hope this helps you. If you still have questions, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
