PCM2901 WIN8 diver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2901, PCM2902C, PCM2906C, PCM2903C, PCM2900C

Does the PCM2901 need driver supporting in WIN8?

  • Hi Peter,

PCM290x works with standard USB Audio Class, so it should work fine in Win8.
One thing I must highlight is that PCM290x devices previous to the C revision (PCM290xC) work a little different in Win7 and later OS's. Non-C devices are recognized as mic input instead of line input, this is due to a change in the way that Win7 and later recognizes these devices.
This was fixed in the C revision so all PCM290xC are recognized as line input again in these OS's.
How did you selected PCM2901? This device does not have a C version but there are PCM2900C, PCM2902C, PCM2903C and PCM2906C if you need the device to be recognized as line input by the Win8 system.
