PCM1754-Q1: PCM1754-Q1 EVM user guide VCC is powered by REG1117-3.3, but PCM1754-Q1 spec is required 5V, so could this part vcc can be supplied 3.3v, what impact if 3.3v power supply instead of 5v

Part Number: PCM1754-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1754

I printscreen two figs in user guide as below.

  • Hi Leo,

In figure 3-2 you can observe the U052 is being source by VCC (5V input from the banana jack) and its output is VDD, which provides power to some of the onboard support circuitry (SPDIF and I2S bus circuits). The PCM1754-Q1 is actually supplied by the VCC supply, not VDD. I do not recommend powering the PCM1754 with less than the 4.5V recommending supply minimum.

Let me know if this answered your question, Thanks!
