TLV320AIC3101EVM-K: Need to Process to Install the TLV320AIC3110 GUI in Windows 10

Part Number: TLV320AIC3101EVM-K

Hi Sirs,

Would you pls advise the process to install the AIC3110 EVM in the Windows 10? We got an error message when attempting to run the installation program. We cannot support customers' AIC3101 configuration without GUI installed in our PC.

Thanks a lot

  • Installation issue solved by running the setup.exe in Windows 7 compatible mode. Trying to solve NI-VISA and driver issues now.

Installed the latest NI-VISA 17.0 application and driver, and installed the slac521's USB modem driver with driver signature enforcement disabled.
However, there is still a yellow bend for "PCI Simple Communication Controller".

I assume it should be DFU device, thus I was trying to install a DFUUSB.inf driver found in AIC3254's program folder:

It was failed. It looks like the dfuusb.inf is not compatible with 64 bit OS.
Now I still need to call help from product line for the latest driver to run the AIC3101 GUI in Windows 10:

    Thank you and Best regards,

    Trying to install the driver

  • Hi, Wayne,

    Thanks for the explanation..

I think the issue is related to the drivers you are trying to install. To get this GUI working, you need  the latest  NI-VISA drivers and also use the Windows 7 driver for the USBMODEVM.

Please try the driver mentioned before and let me know if you are able to get the GUI working.

  • Thank you Diego, I installed the NI-VISA and Windows 7 Driver, my Win10 recognized the USB modem with the Win7 driver as it shown on my screen capture, however, I don’t know what is the PCI communication controller device with the yello bend...Wayne Chen
  • Hi, Wayne,

If you have the correct drivers installed for this EVM, you shall see something like the following image in your device manager.

From your capture, I can see that the board is detected as NI-VISA USB devices, but cannot see the MODEVM being detected in the Sound controllers section.

If the USBMODEVM is detected as the PCI communication controller, probably Windows is configuring automatically the driver. This should be fixed by forcing the correct driver to the device.

  • Thank you Diego. I uninstalled the problematic PCM communication device and installed the slac521's USB-MODEVM_vista&7.inf again, the AIC3101 GUI works with Windows 10 now....Wayne Chen

     Thank you
