PCM3070RHBEVM-K: PurePath Studio Fails to find EVM FWID

Part Number: PCM3070RHBEVM-K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3070, PCM1870, PCM5141, PCM5122, PCM5142, PCM5121

Hi,

I have a PCM3070EVM-K and am attempting to get PurePath Studio to download code to it. A popup box says

Warning: This board has an invalid FWID

None of the choices in the dropdown box have PCM3070 (there is a PCM1870 & 9210)

I have tried both the Home

PurePath Studio GDE (Home Audio)

Supported Devices: PCM3070, PCM5121, PCM5122, PCM5141, PCM5142

and also the Portable GDE version and also the memory utility.

The PCM3070 control SW functions as expected as does the EVM hardware.

Thanks, Tom

  • With the memory tool I was able to connect with the PCM3070... ended up writing a Board FWID from the list in the setup tab with PCM1870. Now the tool downloads and executes some simple process flows ie: tone generator, parametric EQ.

But there should be a way of getting the correct FWID to show up in the tool's list and on the board. Thanks, Tom
  • Hi, Tom,

Thanks for the update, the FWID is not necessary for the use of the EVM, but you may receive a message each time PPS opens if it is not correct. I will check fo the correct way to program the FWID for the PCM3070 and will get back to you as soon as possible.
