Audio Codecs and USB

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2906C

For some years now I've been manufacturing a HF SDR receiver using a PCM2906C as the analog to digital converter with a USB output. This has been a 100% reliable design.

I want to upgrade the design to use a 24 bit 192 kHz audio codec with ideally matching A to D and D to A sections for a future transceiver design.

What combination of audio codec and USB control ICs would members of the forum recommend?

Thanks,

Chris

  • I currently manufacture a HF SDR receiver which uses a PCM2906C as the analog to digital converter with a USB output. This design has been 100% reliable and I want to continue using TI products.

I want to redesign it to use a two channel 24 bit 192 kHz audio codec IC with matching ADC and DAC sections and a suitable USB control IC. What IC combinations are recommended?

I did send a similar post earlier but I don't think my forum application had been registered.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hi, Chris,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

I'm glad to hear your experience with the PCM2906C has been successful. Unfortunately we currently don't have an audio codec with USB interface capable of handling 192KHz, but we have several codecs capable of operating at that sampling rate.
