DRV601 vs DRV603 design/layout differences

Q: DRV601 vs DRV603 design/layout differences

Customer is looking at the design / layout differences between the DRV601 and DRV603.
How much changes are required from design and layouts? DRV603 is differential inputs and it is different from DRV601. Also, cost will be another concerns if any cost adder. Thanks.

A: Re: DRV601 vs DRV603 design/layout differences

If the DRV603 is used in single ended configuration,  the part count would be about the same. In terms of trace layout,  the 603 has a slight advantage since it has less pins than the 601.

The main difference between the two IC's is the UVP feature in the 603, which can be ignored by connecting this pin to VDD. Doing this will make the part counts the same.

DRV602 Cable Detection

Q: Customer wants a circuit that will enable/disable the DRV602 based upon whether or not a cable is plugged into the output connector (RCA/phono jack).

A: Recommended schematic attached.

Additional notes: the Mute_L and Mute_R signals should be used to Mute the input signals that are fed to the DRV602. Also, in actual implementation, caps to GND may need to be placed at the inputs to the OR gate to perform low pass filtering.

DRV632 stability analysis

Q: DRV632 stability analysis

I am doing a stability analysis of an audio circuit using DRV632. I wanted to double check if the TINA-TI model in the website is accurate enough to do this analysis and extract the phase margin?

Can you also please share the open loop gain /phase vs frequency curve for this part? I was a little surprised not to see this in the datasheet.

Also please let me know the GBW product for the same.

A: Re: DRV632 stability analysis

Attached is the comparsion between TINA spice model and the cadence design database.
