Linux/TAS5805MEVM: How to directly send I2C commands to setup TAS5805MEVM under Ubuntu Linux PC without using PPC3?

Part Number: TAS5805MEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5805M

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

My TAS5805MEVM is powered up with a Power Supply Unit, and connected to Ubuntu Linux PC via USB cable. Now lsusb confirms Ubuntu has successfully recognized the TI Audio device.

Now I'm going to try different register settings of the amplifier. How can I send I2C command to TAS5805MEVM (e.g. via the USB interface) to change the settings? I see there's an HID interface. Is that for this purpose? Or should I physically connect to the I2C interface to send the commands?

Thank you very much!

Best,

Li
